| (B) SPIRITUAL RETREAT : |
| During the year, four spiritual retreats (Adhyatmika Shivir) were held : on 20th May, 26th August, 16th September and on 28th October, 2007. The first three were half day retreats from 7.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. while the last one was full day retreat, celebrated as the “M-Festivity”. The retreat included Vedic Chanting, Meditation, Namarchana, devotional songs, discourses, group discussions, questions and answers session and short lectures by devotees on the life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, and spiritual life in general. Swami Girijeshananda Secretary Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu and Swami Nirvikalpananda President Ramakrishna Math Kishanpur, Dehradun participated and addressed the devotees in ‘M’ Festivity. On 27th October, a convention of the Uttar-Paschimanchal Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhav Prachar Parishad was held in the Ashrama, in which delegates from various private centres in the area participated. In the evening a public meeting was held in which His Excellency, Sri V.S. Kokje, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, participated as the Chief Guest and released a book of poems on the Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, by Mr. Som Ranchan of Shimla. Mr. B.I. Advani Convener of the Maharashtra Bhav Prachar Parishad, Swami Girijeshananda, and Swami Nirvikalpananda addressed the gathering. |
